Brazil was voted to hold the 10th Women’s World Cup 2027. The Delegates in FIFA meeting in Bangkok voted by 119 votes to 78, which defeated a joint bid of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
The eagerness and commercial interest in Women’s Football has emerged after the ‘revenue’ success of Australia and New Zealand in 2023, which in commercial revenue earned a record $570 million.

Brazil’s bid included the 10 stadiums which were used for the men’s football World Cup in 2014. The reputed Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro has been proposed for the first match and the final.
