11th A.S. Ali Pentangular Blind Cricket Trophy 2019: Day 4

Two matches of 11th Edition of β€œA.S.AliPentangular Blind Cricket Trophy 2019”were played today.

1st Match: Peshawar vs Okara – Abbottabad Cricket Stadium

Peshawar defeated Okara in a nail biting finish. Peshawar won the toss and asked Okara to bat first. Badar Munir who had not been in a got touch in this event, performed below par in this match as well and got out after scoring only 62 runs. Muhammad Akram again rescued the Okara batting lineup and played outstanding innings of 237 runs with the help of 35 (4’s) and 1 six. That was his 2ndconsecutive double ton, he made 242 yesterday against Islamabad.   

Okara got out after scoring 404 runs in 37.2 overs. Muhammad Asif, Mohsin Khan took 3 wickets each and Shafiullah claimed 2 wickets.

Peshawar lost two wickets early but then Sana Ullah and Haroon Khan consolidated their innings. Haroon Khan got out after scoring 63 runs bur Sana Ullah played exceptional innings of 186 runs. Peshawar lost quick wickets at later stage and Okara came back strongly. Peshawar chased the target in the last over with only wicket to spare.

Muhammad Akram took 3 wickets while Fakhar Abbas claimed 2 wickets.

Result: Peshawar won by 1 wicket

2nd Match: Lahore vs Islamabad – Hazara University, Mansehra

Lahore defeated Islamabad in a thriller by 1 wicket.

Islamabad won the toss and decided to bat first. Islamabad lost six early wickets, then Anees Javed played Captain’s inning and took his team out of deep trouble. He remained unbeaten on 150 runs off 97 balls. Shahzaib was the other top scorer with 62 runs.

Islamabad scored 373 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 40 overs. Matiullah was the most successful bowler for Lahore, he claimed 3 wickets. Muhammad Salman took 2 wickets.

The start of Lahore innings wasn’t good, they lost 2 wickets in the first over of Zeeshan Abbasi. Thereafter, Kamran Akhtar played a brilliant knock of 91 runs and took his out of whirlpool. Islamabad fielders were generous to him and dropped his five catches.

Matiullah’s 56 runs took Lahore closer to target but his wicket opened gates for Islamabad.

Lahore lost 9 wickets while still 30 runs required. Nisar Ali who was injured and came at No. 10 snatched the game from Islamabad and Lahore won by 1 wicket in a thriller.

Result: Lahore won by 1 wicket
