The three-day 121st Annual Sports of the Government College University, Lahore concluded with a colorful ceremony at the university’s Oval Ground marked by the Gymkhana events including Girls Chatti Race, Cricket Ball Throw, Staff Children Race, Wheel Barrow Race, Four legged Race, 60 Meter Race for special students and Sack Race.
Thousands of students, teachers, staff members and Old Ravians participated this year in the March Past and 70 different competitions of GCU annual sports gala.
Sehar Fatima and Hadiqa Nasir won the title of Best Female Athletes of GCU for their extraordinary performance in different sports competitions. Ali Ahmed Sukhera was declared the Best Male Athlete.
As many as five male athletes made the new GCU records during 2022 at the 121st Annual Sports. Which included Ali Ahmad Sukhera, Faraz Khan Tanoli, Ali Haider and Zohaib Habib who broke the university’s old records in 200-Meter Race, Long Jump, 3000-Meter and Hammer Throw.
Earlier, in the competitions, Asia Perveen and Attiya won Chatti Race and Cricket Ball Throw, while Mehreen Abdullah was triumphant in the Musical Chair. Hassam won the white cane race for special students. Nabeel crossed the finish line first in Sack race.
