South Korea opened its doors to the world for the largest ever Winter Paralympics to be held from 9 – 18 March 2018.  In freezing conditions all the events will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Pyeongchang, South Korea especially constructed for this event. In 2011, Pyeongchang was voted as host during the IOC Session in Durban.
A total of 48 different nations, entered the stadium in freezingly cold temperature which reached down to -5 degrees Celsius. Due to doping ban a neutral Paralympic athletes team of Russian competitors is participating.

The Olympic Stadium in which the games are being held has a capacity of  35,000 spectators and net worth of $106 million.
The total athletes that will take part in this competition are numbered to be 567.
Six Winter Paralympics sports which will be competed for are:
- Alpine Skiing
- Biathlon
- Cross-country Skiing
- Para Ice Hockey
- Snowboarding
- Wheelchair Curling
