About Beach Wrestling?
Beach wrestling is form of wrestling in which the wrestlers in standing form do wrestling. In 2004, UWW, which was at that time known as FILA, formulized the present form of beach wrestling.
It is done in a circle filled with sand which measures 7 meters (23 ft) in diameter.
Till 2015, the style was moreover conventional with the rules being such as usage of mats, etc. However, in 2015, UWW modified the rules as follows:
- Wrestlers would be allowed to score points via takedowns.
- Wrestlers will be allowed to push their opponent out of bounds/circle, or floor their opponents on their back.
