Malaysia from Asian groups qualified for World group competition, which shall be held in Portugal during the month of May 2022.
On conclusion of BNP Paribas ITF Wheelchair Tennis Qualifier Cup at Megasaray Tennis Academy, Antalya, Turkey the positions were:
No 1 – Malaysia by beating Australia in the Final of Asian regions with 2-1 sets score.
Number 2 position – Australia,
3rd Iraq and
4th Pakistan.
According to the Pakistan captain Muhammad Khalid Rehmani, first time participation for Pakistan has been a very positive especially as the team has made an impression in the international circuit.
He added, that ITF Wheelchair medical eligibility qualifications tests were held of Pakistan team and now all Pakistan players are eligible to take part in All international wheelchair Tennis competitions including Asian Paralympics on China later this year.
The Captain elaborated that he held a detailed meeting with ITF Wheelchair head Alistair and Ms Suzi (Development officer ITF) in which the officials promised to give grant for Development of Wheelchair Tennis in Pakistan and will also finance a workshop to prepare a pool of qualified coaches for Wheelchair Tennis in Pakistan.
