2022 Winter Olympics cauldron stands lit and officially called the XXIV (24th) Olympic Winter Games are declared open by Chinese President Xi Jinping in a ceremony held at the Beijing National Stadium
The cauldron was light by Dinigeer Yilamujiang and Zhao Jiawen in the stadium also known as Bird’s Nest.
To last till 20th February there are 2,871 Athletes participating (1,581 men and 1,290 women) from 91 Nations who will participate in 109 events in 7 Sports and 15 disciplines.
There are seven new medal events, which includes men’s and women’s – freestyle skiing aerials mixed team competitions, women’s monobob, big air freestyle, ski jumping, mixed relay in short track speed skating and snowboard cross.
