The Semi Finals of the 2022 World Junior Championship in Nancy, France saw the top seeds crumbling. First in the Women’s semi-final 5/8 seed Salma El Tayeb ousted her country mate No.1 seed Kenzy Ayman. In the second semi of Men’s draw, Pakistan’s No.1 seed Humza Khan could not perform as expected and 3/4 seed English player Finnlay moreover outsmarted him.
In the next two semi-finals, Rowan Damming had the honour of becoming the first ever Dutchman to reach a Squash World Junior Championship final and in the second all out Women’s Egyptian semi-final, Amina Orfi beat Fayrouz Abouelkheir.
