FG/Din Polo clinched the title of the Hamadan Lahore Open Polo Championship 2023 after defeating Team Remounts by 6-4 in the main final played here at the Lahore Polo Club.
Team FG/Din Polo started the match in great style and put their opponents under pressure right from the word go as they succeeded in converting three tremendous goals in the first chukker. The second chukker though remained low scoring yet Remounts succeeded in opening their account with a field goal to reduce the deficit to 1-3.
The third chukker also belonged to team Remounts, who added one more goal to their tally to further reduce the margin to 2-3. The highly-charged fourth chukker saw both the teams utilizing all their energies and skills but converting one goal after another. But it was team FG/Din Polo, which played a bit better polo, thus winning the title clash by 6-4.
For team FG/Din Polo, Juan Cruz Greguol emerged as hero of the day as he contributed with fabulous five goals while the remaining one goal was converted by Bilal Haye. For team Remounts, all the four goals were fired in by foreign player Lao Abelenda.
The occasion was graced by Hamadan Holdings CEO Kamal Nasir, Khalid Rasheed Butt, Asad Elahi, Muhammad Zahid, Khalid Malik Puri (all from Hamadan), Samsung Marketing Manager Farhan Shafi, officers from Turkish Embassy in Pakistan, Lahore Polo Club President Malik Azam Hayat Noon, executive committee members, polo players and their families.

The main final, set for Sunday, 24th December 24, 2023, promises an intense showdown between FG/Din Polo and Remounts. Meanwhile, in the subsidiary final, Diamond Paints/Platinum Homes will go head-to-head against Master Paints.
Semifinals Overview
In the first semifinal, FG/Din Polo narrowly triumphed over Newage Cables with a 7-6 scoreline. Bilal Haye and Juan Cruz Greguol stole the spotlight with three goals each, securing their team’s victory. Amin Rahman contributed the remaining one goal. In a decisive turn of events, Remounts and FG/Din Polo from Pool B secured their spots in the semifinals, joining Newage Cables and Rijas Polo from Pool A, setting the stage for exhilarating clashes on Friday.
The first semifinal will be contested between Remounts and Rijas Polo while in the second semifinal, FG/Din Polo will compete against Newage Cables.
Day 7 Overview
The pivotal match on Wednesday witnessed FG/Din Polo triumphing over Remounts with a scoreline of 9-7. Juan Cruz Greguol emerged as the star performer for FG/Din Polo, showcasing exceptional skills with seven goals, supported by Mian Abbas Mukhtar’s two goals.
