In the first encounter, the hosts Pakistan were trounced by Jordan with a 3-0 win in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier played at the Jinnah Stadium in Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The second encounter is scheduled on 26th March in Jordan.

From the beginning in the very first minute Jordan started to have an edge. It was awarded a free kick on the left side of the box which the striker Musa Taamari was able to shoot the directly into the goal. The second goal was scored by Ali Olwan after about 10 minutes. The first half ended with the score 2-0 in Jordan’s favour.
In the second half Pakistan were able to attack, however, the outcome were not rewarding. Musa Taamari scored his second goal and increased the lead a the final match score to 3-0.
- Till present in the second round, Jordan have won one match, drawn one and lost one. Whereas Pakistan have lost all their second-round group-stage matches.
2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier Round 2: Pakistan Squad Announced
The final men’s squad of Pakistan for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier Round 2 matches against Jordan was announced by PFF-Pakistan Football Federation.
The matches are scheduled in two phases. First clash on 21st March at the Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad followed with another clash on 26th March in Jordan.
The announced squad of Pakistan is:
Goalkeepers: Yousuf Butt (D), Saqib Hanif, Abdul Basit and Hassan Ali.
Defenders: Easah Suliman (D), Abdullah Iqbal (D), Mamoon Musa, Haseeb Khan, Mohammad Saddam, Mohammad Sohail, Omer Rao, Mohammad Fazal (D) and Mohammad Adeel.
Midfielders: Rahis Nabi (D), Harun Hamid (D), Alamgir Ghazi, Rajab Ali, Ali Uzair, Shayek Dost and Abdul Samad (D).
Forwards: FareedUllah, Waleed Khan, Imran Kayani (D) and Adeel Younis
Post Round 2
Upon completion of the second round the leading two teams of each group will move into the third round, where 18 nations will compete in format of three groups with each group having six teams. The results of third round will enable the top two winning teams of each three groups to book their berths at FIFA World Cup 2026.
