Pak Team Trial Day 1 | Ghazi Team Leads
To select national bridge teams for participation in the 22nd Bridge Federation of Middle East Competition due to be held in May 2023, the Pakistan Bridge Federation is holding bridge trials activity at Karachi Gymkhana over eight days.
Trials will continue on Wednesday. The WBF certified director Ihsan Qadir is conducting the trials as the Chief Director assisted by Wajahat Suri, a prominent name of the Bridge Playing arena of Pakistan.
At the end of the first day activity the Ghazi Team comprising of star bridge players Tehsin Gheewala, Farrukh Liaqat, Hasan Askari, Imran Abedi, Rashidul Ghazi and Mohsin Chandna brought into play their bridge playing skills to attain top position after three rounds. Total points accumulated by the Ghazi Team add upto 50.33 imp.
In second position at 40.66 imp is the Kamran Team. Their team members are Kamran Ibrahim, Mirza Shauq Hussain, Ghalib Bandesha, Masood Mazhar, Zakir Mehmood and Azhar Hamid. Out of the other competing teams, the KAAGAZ team is placed at a score of 40.52 and the team members who managed this attainment are Kashif Shah,Anis ur Rehman,Ahsan Javed Qureshi and Gulzar Ahmed Bilal.
While these three teams appear to be strongly placed, other teams lag behind. Puri Estate team is at 29.25 imp, Allana is at 26.75, Karachi FBR at 18.48 and placed at last position is Islamabad Aces. Their score is a modest looking 10.01.
Pakistan To Host; Pak Team Trials From 14th March
The 22nd BFAME-Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East competition will be hosted in Pakistan from 5th to 13th May 2023 at Hotel Pearl Continental, Karachi.
The competition is being organised in association with National Bridge Organizations of Bangla Desh, India, Pakistan, UAE, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Kuwait, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia.
The prime objective of this competition is to select two teams in categories Open, Women, Seniors and Mixed who would eventually proceed to Morocco for the World Bridge Championship to be held later this year.

Trials For Pakistan Team
As a part of this process the Pakistan Bridge Federation will also hold bridge trials activity at Karachi Gymkhana from 14th to 21st March to selected the national team members. A total of 8 open, 2 ladies, 4 seniors and 2 mixed team players will be competing to achieve qualification for participating in BFAME bridge championship.
The WBF certified director Ihsan Qadir will be Chief Director to be assisted by Wajahat Suri, a prominent name of the Bridge Playing arena of Pakistan.
The teams due to take part in the trials are Spell comprising of Tehsin-Gulza -Bilal-Kamran and Saeed Akhter.Another team Islamabad Aces will comprise of Puris–Asghar Abbas and Miran. This is the position of Open Section.
In Seniors race the teams are Mind Sports composed of Saeed Akhter, Janjua and Kamran.
In Ladies category the participating ladies are Fatima and Samira.
Mixed team aspirants will be chosen from Spell Team and the lady all by herself is Samira.
