ISLAMABAD: Jubilee Insurance National Junior U-18 Snooker Championship started with two major upsets on the opening day at PSB Snooker Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.
On Day 1 – the opening day with 32 players competing on league basis, 16 matches were decided .
First major upset was by Sheikh Muhammad Mudassir of Punjab when he with his better strategy managed to defeat Muhammad Umer Khan, the top seed of the championship. The final score was 3-1.
Ahsan Ramzan of Punjab did the second upset when he outplayed Sindh Champion Sheikh Qambar Hussain by 3-0.
League matches will continue till 8th January, when two players from each group will qualify for the pre-quarter finals, which will the knock out round .
