He received the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award for Best Arab Judge.
The awards are a part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, which aims to gather and recognise creative people on national (United Arab Emirates), regional (Arab) and international levels.
Ahmed Koura, of Egypt, received the Creative Sports Award for Best Arab Judge.
Ahmed has been an active international archery judge since 2009, was the first African and Arab judge to chair a World Archery Youth Championships – in 2015 – and is also the secretary general of the Federation of African Archery.
He has also worked to develop archery judges in member associations in Africa, and acted as technical delegate for continental championships and other events.
Koura currently works as an associate professor in Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt, as part of the Faculty of Physical Education’s Sport Recreation Department.
