Everyone knows that Roger Federer is a good guy. Here’s further evidence why.
The Swiss tennis ace was playing Alexander Zverev at the Hopman Cup when the German wonderkid sent down a booming serve that was called out in a tightly fought first set.
Federer wasn’t so sure and told the teenager, “Close, very close” before Zverev decided to challenge the call (with a little bit of encouragement from the crowd).
Replays showed that the ball just caught the line and Zverev moved to a 30-0 lead in the first set which Federer was leading at the time 6-5.
He went on to lose the match 7-6 6-7 7-6 but still won over the crowd with an incredible gesture that is rarely seen in professional sport these days.
