Lahore: Ahsan & Co. outpaced Nurpur by 8-2 to qualify for the main final of the New Year Polo Cup 2017.
Ahmed Ali Tiwana was star of the day as he struck fabulous five goals while Atif Yar Tiwana hammered a hat-trick. From the losing side, Ahsan Javed Sher scored a brace. Ahmed Tiwana started the match with his 30-yarder penalty hit to provide his team 1-0 lead. The second chukker was also dominated by Ahsan & Co as Ahmed Tiwana thwarted a hat-trick to make it 4-0 while Atif Tiwana struck a field goal to further strengthen Ahsan & Co lead to 5-0.
Nurpur made a comeback in the third chukker, when Ahsan Javed converted two goals – both on 30-yard penalty hits. The chukker ended with Ahsan & Co having 5-2 lead. Ahsan & Co maintained their dominance in the fourth chukker as they pumped in three more goals – two were hit by Atif Tiwana and one by Ahmed Tiwana – to finish the match at 8-2. Taimur Mawaz Khan and Agha Musa supervised the match as field umpires.
