The 62nd National Amateur Golf Championship while in progress at Lahore Gymkhana Golf Club Golf Course had a 18 holes one day event namely J.R.Jaywardene Trophy, which had commenced between Pakistan and Sri Lanka during 1980’s.

The Pakistan Team was successful in winning the J.R.Jaywardene Trophy. For Pakistan Salman Jehangir played gross 72 and Qasim Ali Khan played 76 and team score of Pakistan was 148. For Sri Lanka Akash Priyamantha played 79 while Chalitha Pushpika played 76 and the Sri Lankan Team Score was 155. As a result Pakistan Team won by a margin of seven strokes.
