Spain Vs. Sweden: The Scandinavians are the highest ranked team in the last – 4. However, on Tuesday, 15th August they are tipped to face fierce competition at Auckland, New Zealand. Spain is considered a lesser opponent for Sweden in the opinion of the pundits. The way the Swedes played against Japan, they can expect to win in their 4th semifinal in recent times if they continue the same spirit. Spain, playing in their first semifinal at such stage are also in good form and fully capable of turning the tables. Both the teams have faced each other only once previously, the match ending in a draw.

England Vs. Australia: The match will be played on Wednesday, 16th August at Stadium Australia, Sydney. Both the teams have played each other 4 times; England won twice, Australia once and one match was drawn. However, in the most recent match in April this year, Australia won 2 – 0. This was England’s only defeat in their last 37 matches. England have never won a Women’s World Cup though they have appeared in the last three semifinals of previous events. Australia are playing quality football. Though their quarterfinal win against France was earned via penalty shoot-out, they would have the advantage of the huge home support and spirit to reach their first final of the World Cup.
