The Executive Board of the IOC-International Olympic Committee has proposed seven classic ice sports to be voted at the 142nd IOC session, shortly before the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The proposed seven sports are: Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Curling, Ice hockey, Luge, Figure skating and Skiing.
The acceptance of the proposal is considered mandatory and the seven ice sports will again be part of the 2030 Winter Olympics program. Since the 1998 Nagano Games, the proposed games have been prime priority of the Winter Olympic program.
The 2030 Winter Olympics are expected to take place in the French Alps. The final decision is expected during IOC session on 24 July. Till present the Winter Games have been held in France at Chamonix during 1924, Grenoble in 1968 and Albertville in 1992.
