Match 7 of 10: Eibar Vs Alaves

Result: 0 – 1

Goal Scorers:

·         Alaves: John Guidetti 5’

Highlights:

·         Eibar and Alaves had more or less the same performance in this season with Eibar being a slightly better team than Alaves.

·         But not today, as Alaves John Guidetti struck a goal at the 5^th minute to ensure a 1 – 0 win over Eibar.

·         The best part about this clash is that Alaves only took a total of 2 shots at the goal with one being a successful one.

·         On the other hand, Eibar took 21 shots with a dominating 67% possession of the ball but, couldn’t convert their shots into goals.

Match 8 of 10: Athletico Madrid Vs Levante

Result: 3 – 0

·         Athletico Madrid: Angel Correa 33′, Antoine Griezmann 48′, Fernando Torres 77′

Highlights:

·         No surprises here as the 2^nd ranked team in La Liga crushed the 17^th ranked team by scoring one goal in the 1^st and two goals in the 2^nd half.

·         Athletico Madrid were clinical in their approach as Angel Correa got them the lead in the first half after which the scoreboard read 1 – 0.

·         Levante tried their best to make a comeback in the 2^nd half of the match. However, Athletico did not allow it as they extended their lead by 2 more goals.

·         There was not much difference in possession between the two teams. But, Levante’s weak defense was the problem for them as it lost them the match.

·         With this win Athletico Madrid remained at the 2^nd position while Levante also remained 17^th on the table.

Match 9 of 10: Getafe CF Vs Espanyol FC

Result: 1 – 0

Goal Scorers:

·         Getafe CF: Damian Suarez 53′

Highlights:

·         An interesting match between Getafe and Espanyol as there was only a one-point difference between the two before this match.

·         Getafe CF wanted to win this match which they did to move into the top 10 ranks in the points table.

·         Espanyol FC on the other hand, had 63% possession in the match however their lack of shot accuracy lost them the match.

·         Both teams did not allow each other to score in the 1^st half. But, in the 2^nd half Damian Suarez gave Getafe an early lead at the 53^rd minute.

·         And Espanyol had no answer to this as they lost the match without scoring. All thanks to their strikers who couldn’t even get a shot accurately at their opposition’s goal.

Match 10 of 10: Real Madrid Vs Malaga

Result: 2 – 1

·         Malaga: Diego Rolan 90+3′

Highlights:

·         This was the first match of Real Madrid after the Bernabeu club had gone cemented their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

·         However, their La Liga form was another story altogether as they ranked third in table with Barcelona leading by 15 points at the top of the table.

·         Nevertheless, in their 32^nd match Real Madrid faced Malaga who were currently at the last of the La Liga table.

·         As expected, Real dominated Malaga in every way possible as they struck two goals to win the match against Malaga.

·         In reply, the last ranked team in La Liga managed to score a goal in the extra time but it was too late as Madrid won the match comfortably.

·         After this match Real moved two places up the table and are now ranked third in the La Liga table.
