Result:   Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 5 runs.

Man of the Match: Kane Williamson

Highlights:

·         Sunrisers Hyderabad, arguably the strongest bowling attack in this IPL faced a weak RCB side that was looking for a win to ensure their survival in this IPL season.

·         So, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to field first. RCB knew that they needed to contain SRH under 150 if they wanted to win this game.

·        The first innings started and SRH opening pair of Alex Hales and Shikhar looked to add quick runs on the board. But, their ambitions were halted by RCB bowlers as both openers fell inside 6 overs.

·         However, RCB did not take their foot off the gas as Manish Pandey continued his bad form as he fell cheaply off Chahal’s bowling.

·         SRH were in trouble and they needed their captain, Kane Williamson to step up – which he did. He along with Shakib Al-Hasan shared a 64-run partnership to put SRH back on track.

·         But after these two got out, no other SRH batsman could score off RCB’s bowling as an excellent show was presented by RCB pacers. RCB’s death bowling was pretty impressive as they only conceded 34 runs off the last four overs.

·        So, SRH managed to score 146 runs in their 20 overs. RCB bowlers had done half the job for their team and now it was time for their batting unit to do their part.

·         RCB batsmen got off to a quick start as they defied SRH bowlers to take control of the match. Despite getting an early wicket SRH didn’t seemed in control as Virat Kohli looked in outstanding form.

·         However, Kohli had struggled against spin in this IPL and SRH used this weakness of his as Shakib took his wicket. But RCB hopes were still pretty much alive as ABD was on the crease.

·         But, a stunning Rashid Khan did not let Mr.360 to blast off as he shattered his stumps to bring SRH back in control.

·         Moeen Ali, who was making his debut in IPL walked out to bat. But, he only lasted 10 balls before Siddharth Kaul took his wicket.

·         After that Mandeep Singh and Colin de Grandhomme batted sensibly and took RCB close to winning this match. In the end, RCB needed 12 runs off the last over.

·         Bhuneshwar Kumar was given the last over with 12 to defend. And he did his job quite well as he only conceded six runs and also took a wicket off his last ball as SRH continued their dominant run in this IPL.
