Match 1: Pakistan Vs Belgium

Summary:
- No goals were scored in the 1st quarter as the defensive play was strong from both sides.
- In the 2nd quarter, Shan Ali put Pakistan in the lead but Belgium’s Boon Tom equalized the scoreboard in the same quarter.
- In the 3rd quarter, Van Aubel Florent scored a beautiful goal to put Belgium in the lead and Pakistan couldn’t score in this quarter as it came to an end .
- In the last and final quarter, attacking play from Pakistan was quite phenomenal and this led Arshad Toseeq to score at the 60th minute and equalize once again.
- It all came down to a penalty shoot-out between Belgium and Pakistan. Both goal keepers, namely Loic van Doren and Imran Butt exhibited great skills.
- Both keepers only allowed one goal to be scored of the first two shots, however it was the last round that made all the difference. As, Belgium’s Arthur de Sloover was successful in scoring but Pakistan’s Shafqat Rasool couldn’t, resulting in a loss for Pakistan.

- Argentina: Hertzberger Jereon 47′ , Pruijser Mirco 54′
Summary:
- Due to excellent display of defensive skill, no goals were scored in the 1st, 2nd or the 3rd quarter as the final and 4th quarter started.
- This when Argentina finally displayed their attacking play as Hertzberger Jereon scored the opening goal of the match to put his team in the lead.
- 7 minutes later the lead was doubled by Pruijser Mirco as Argentina registered a thumping victory over Netherlands in their last match of the Hockey Champions Trophy.

Summary:
- This was the 2nd match in one day where hockey fans witnessed penalty shootouts between the champions trophy finalists, Australia and India.
- It was always going to be tough as no goals were scored by either team in the 1st quarter of the match.
- However, in the 2nd quarter, Govers Blake scored to put Australia in the lead.
- India were swift in their reply as in the 3rd quarter, Prasad Vivek equalized the scoreboard.
- The match now came into the 4th and final quarter. Both teams displayed excellent defensive skills as neither team scored a single goal and the match moved on to penalty shootouts.
- Zalewski Aran scored the first penalty followed by Beale Daniel who made it 2 – 0. India missed three penalties in a row before Singh Manpreet finally scored to make it 2 – 1.
- The match had already been lost by India and Australian Edwards Jeremy scored his last goal to register a dominant display of Australian penalty shootout.
- India came so close to winning but couldn’t outclass Australia who won the last edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy.
