- Sweden and Switzerland faced each other in their first ever World Cup match. And, it was Sweden who were the favorites to win this match.
- The 1st half kicked off and Swedish attacker, Marcus Berg already had taken 13 shots at the goal but was unable to convert a single one.
- On the other hand, Switzerland were pretty impressive with their ball possession as they looked quite threatening with their attacks.
- But, they also remained goalless as the 1st half ended with 0 – 0 on both sides.
- The 2nd half went underway and surprisingly no substitutions were made by any team.
- Swedish Midfielder, Emil Forsberg was looking in good touch and he was the one to break the deadlock as he struck and low and straight ball to put Sweden in the lead.
