Wimbledon 2018: Women’s Singles – Semi Finals

Single’s: Angelique Kerber vs Jelena Ostapenko

Result: Angelique Kerber defeated Jelena Ostapenko by 6-3, 6-3.

Highlights:

  • Jelena Ostapenko took a perfect start as she opened the scoring of the first set after a tough fight.
  • However, on the other hand, Angelique Kerber started scoring a little bit late as she was only losing points in the start.

  • However, in the end, it was Angelique Kerber who gave defeat to Jelena Ostapenko in the opening set as she was only able to score a total of three points throughout the set.
  • The next set started after a short break and this time the German star player, Angelique Kerber opened the scoring with a powerful backhand shot.

  • However, on the other hand, the 21-year old, Jelena Ostapenko started scoring points a little bit late.
  • In the end, Angelique Kerber again gave defeat to Jelena Ostapenko by 6-3 as Jelena lost some points on her serve in the end.

  • Although, Angelique Kerber and Jelena Ostapenko both scored three points on an ace but Jelena Ostapenko made a total of three double faults which was one of the reasons in her loss against the German player.

  • Angelique Kerber finally sealed her place into the finals where she will now play against the American star player, Serena Williams for the Wimbledon 2018 title.

 

Single’s: Serena Williams vs Julia Gorges

Result: Serena Williams defeated Julia Gorges by 6-2, 6-4.

Highlights:

Wimbledon 2018

  • Serena Williams gave an absolute and stunning performance against Julia Gorges throughout the match.
  • The first set started and Julia Gorges failed to took the lead as Serena Williams scored the first point quickly.

  • However, Serena Williams continued to score points at a very fast pace while on the other hand, Julia Gorges was dropping points on her serve.
  • In the end, Serena Williams gave a terrible defeat to Julia Gorges in the opening set as Serena did not let her to score more than a total of two points throughout the set.

  • The match came to the second set and the American star player, Serena Williams easily took the lead in this set too.
  • Serena Williams was scoring points quickly in this set but this time the German star player, Julia Gorges was also in form as she was scoring at a very fast pace.

  • The score reached 4-5 after a tough fight with Serena Williams leading upfront.
  • However, in the end, Serena Williams claimed her victory as she scored the last point and finally secured her place into the finals of Wimbledon 2018.

  • Serena Williams finally booked her place into the finals where she will now play against the German star player, Angelique Kerber for the Wimbledon 2018 Championship.
