IAAF Neutral Athletes: Two More Russians Approved To Compete Internationally
The two Russian athletes who had file applications, have been approved by IAAF Doping Review Board to compete in international competition as neutral athletes during 2018.
However, the Russian national federation (RusAF) remains suspended.
The IAAF in December 2017, had issued a simplified application process for Neutral Athletes to reapply for continuing their eligibility to compete internationally during 2018. Since the simplified application process was published, the IAAF has received more than 200 applications from Russian athletes.
Till present, in total 74 Russian athletes have been declared eligible to compete in 2018. 68 applications have been denied.
The 2018 Authorised Neutral Athletes include:
- 27 July 2018: Yegor Nikolayev (1,500m), Aleksandr Skorobogatko (400m)
- 13 July 2018: Rinas Akhmadeev (10,000m/half marathon), Artem Alekseev (marathon), Artem Denmukhametov (400m), Denis Lukyanov (hammer throw), Elizaveta Tsareva (hammer throw)
- 3 July 2018: Mariya Aglitskaya (100m hurdles), Timofey Chalyy (400m hurdles), Georgiy Gorokhov (pole vault), Ilya Ivanyuk (high jump), Timur Morgunov (pole vault), Vera Rudakova (400m hurdles), Yevgeniy Rybakov (distances), Fyodor Shutov (distances)
