Post FIS Ski Jumping World Cup: 5 Teams replacing Coaches
After the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup season ended, five teams from Austria, Finland, Japan, Slovenia and France have announced that they will be changing their respective coaching staff.
Heinz Kuttin – Austria:
For 4 years Heinz Kuttin was the Head Coach for the Austrian team. During his coaching, Stefan Kraft won the World Cup title 2016/17 and also twice won the FIS World Championship titles in Finland. No successor has yet been announced.
Andreas Mitter – Finland:
The Finnish Ski Association and Austrian Andreas Mitter announced the end of their association which had lasted for two years. No successor has yet been announced.
Tomoharu Yokokawa – Japan:
After 8 years, Tomoharu Yokokawa recently resigned as Head Coach. Under his coaching veteran Noriaki Kasai won silver (large hill) at the Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi and Japan took bronze in the team event. Hideharu Miyahira the former world class jumper will be taking over the responsibility of the new Head Coach.
Gerard Colin – France:
After 4 years, Gerard Colin decided to resign as the Head Coach. No successor has yet been announced.
Goran Janus – Slovenia:
After seven years as Head Coach, Goran Janus will take up the role of Sports Director for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined. Under Goran’s coaching, Peter Prevc won the overall World Cup and the 4-Hills-Tournament in the 2015/16 season. Gorazd Bertoncelj will be replaced as the new Head Coach.
