ISLAMABAD: A 3-day figure skating training camp was arranged at Safa Gold Mall, Islamabad by WSFP – The Winter Sports Federation of Pakistan. This was an initiative of providing training to the young boys and girls in various winter sports.
Around 70 novice players from various age categories availed this free of cost opportunity. A similar camp will also be arranged in Karachi in the last week of this month to harness the potential of young talent.
A United Arab Emirates based Pakistani skater, Ms. Mallak Faisal with her mother cum mentor Ms. Nesrien Saadawi were especially invited to Pakistan by WSFP. The talented duo gave training to the young enthusiasts with flair to excel in this exhilarating sport.

Such camps is an effort of Winter Sports Federation of Pakistan under the auspices of PAF, to help flourish winter sports in Pakistan. Eager participation of the youth in this healthy and exciting activity is a sign of huge potential of winter sports. WSFP also plans to open a full scale indoor simulator in Karachi to facilitate the winter sport lovers of Southern chapter. Moreover, to promote ice hockey, ice skating and figure skating in the snowy regions of the country, it has also planned to develop ice skating rinks in the winter season over various frozen lakes, scattered around Gilgit, Skardu and KPK region.
