Tennis-Pak vs Ind Davis Cup Tie 2019: Nauman A. Durrani Appointed Manager
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tennis Federation today announced that Nauman Aleem Durrani would be the Manager of Team Pakistan for the much awaited Davis Cup Tie against India in September 2019, which will be played in the capital city Islamabad.
Besides being an international event, An added important feature is that the Indian team is visiting after 55 years to play in Pakistan, and for the first time in Islamabad.
Nauman has been among the top 10 tennis players of Pakistan in the 1980’s. His wide experience in managerial roles, nationally and internationally, weighs to his favour as an ideal choice for a high profile Pakistan vs India tie.
The process of selecting and announcing the teams of both the countries is under process and will be done so by the respective Tennis organizations.
The former Davis Cup player Mr. Mushaf Zia has already been announced as the non-playing Team Captain and Coach. The appointment of Nauman Aleem Durrani as Manager, helps creates a promising management duo that is well-versed in the technical and administrative aspects of the sport.
The PTF – Pakistan Tennis Fedration, with assistance of the PSB – Pakistan Sports Board, will be catering to all organisational requirements of the ITF-mandated tie.
