Pak Openers Flatten SL
Pakistan’s opening batsmen Abid Ali and Shan Masood made a record partnership of 278 runs on the third day of the second test against Sri Lanka in Karachi on Saturday.
Abid (174 off 281) hit his second test ton and Masood (135 off 198) his maiden one to give the hosts a mammoth lead of 315 runs. Pakistan finished the third day’s play 394/2 with Captain Azhar Ali and Babar Azam on the crease.

Korean Zombie Wins
Korean MMA fighter Chan Sung Jung, popularly known as “The Korean Zombie”, ended his 2019 on a forceful note by registering a TKO win against Frankie Edgar in Busan, South Korea.
Edgar started the fight with an upper hand by Jung countered
him fiercely and responded with fierce punching that knocked out Edgar by
fourth round.

Four Arrested For Match Fixing
French law enforcement authorities arrested a number of individuals in connection with the Algeria match-fixing and bribery scandal.
The arrests were made in relation to the on-going French investigation into the 2018 Algerian league match between DRB Tadjenanet and ES Setif. Tadjenanet won the match 3-2 and managed to stay in the series.

Chavez Jr Quits, Crowd Riots
Boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr quit mid-match in the fight against Daniel Jacobs at Phoenix arena on Saturday which led to the massive commotion by the spectators.
Chavez Jr claimed he couldn’t continue the fight due to a broken nose during the fifth round and retired to his corner.
The crowd started hurling objects towards the ring as Chavez Jr made his way out. There were even reports of commotion and fights among opposing sides in the stands and in the parking lot of the arena.

Pakistan’s Arsalan Ash Honored
Pakistani gamer and Esports athlete Arslan Ash Siddique has been named as the Best Player of the Year 2019 by Sports publication network ESPN.
Arsalan was crowned the winner of coveted title after an overwhelming majority (60%) of the global gaming community voted in his favor.

Val Gardena Downhill Cancelled
Organizers were forced to cancel the annual Val Gardena downhill on Saturday due to severe rain, fog and snow that make it unusable for athletes.
The International Ski Federation officials told media that a
new date for skiing competition will be announced at the same or some other spot.

Bolt Inaugurates 2020 Venue
Sprinting legend Usain Bolt inaugurated the Tokyo National Stadium on Saturday to mark the competition of construction work ahead of Tokyo Olympics 2020.
The eight-time gold medal winner Bolt made a quick round of the stadium that is set to be the most prominent venue for the majority of the games during global competition.
