A number of sports stars have come forward and joined the global efforts to raise crucial funds for Australian emergency services battling the week-long bushfires throughout the country.
Australian Cricket legend Shane Warne recently put up his debut test cap for auction that brought in 1 million Australian dollars that will go to the aid of those affected by the bushfires.
Meanwhile, Tennis Star Serena Williams has also donated a signed dress of hers that she wore at her first match of 2020 for auction to raise funds in this regard.
Along with Williams’ dress, other tennis items available for the charity auction are a ball signed by Williams and Caroline Wozniacki and a one-hour exclusive training session with tennis legend and Williams’ mentor Patrick Mouratoglou.
Earlier, Formula One racing champion Lewis Hamilton promised $500,000 for the emergency services working tirelessly to save wildlife from ravishing fires.
Australia has been on fire for weeks now with bushfires rampaging through the vast country killing millions of animal lives and destroying millions of acres of land. The ferocious fires have consumed dozens of human lives and have caused billions of dollars’ worth of property damage as well.
