Sports fans can go to extreme lengths to celebrate their favorite team’s victory or to vie for the attention of their favorite player and football fans are no exception.
A similar incident recently occurred in Pakistan where a local couple had an Arsenal themed wedding and took the opportunity to express their love for the English football club and its midfielder Mesut Ozil.
The couple posted a video on social media showing them sporting the club’s banner with the Arsenal logo and team’s nickname ‘The Gunners’ along with their friends and family.
The football-crazed group also made an ‘M’ sign towards the end of the video copying Ozil’s signature move whenever he scores a goal on the field.
The video went viral on social media and was picked by none other than Ozil himself who Tweeted it along with a congratulatory note expressing best wishes to the couple.
Mesut Ozil is a German player of Turkish ancestor who plays as an attacking midfielder for the Premier League club Arsenal and is sometimes deployed as a winger as well.
Known for his creative gameplay and agile passing skills, the 31-year-old has scored 32 goals in 177 matches for Arsenal after he left his first club Real Madrid in 2013.
The ‘M’ sign in question interestingly does not refer to Ozil’s first name but to his niece Mira as clarified by him in 2015.
