AFC – Asian Football Confederation announced that five nations have expressed an interest to host the 2027 Asian Cup.
The strong contenders for the 19th edition, include Qatar who are the reigning champion and host of 2022 Football World Cup. Other nations are Iran, India, Saudi Arabia, and Uzbekistan.

Qatar has already staged the competition twice during 1988 and 2011. Iran has also had the opportunity of hosting the event two times in 1968 and 1976, but the difference was that they won the title both times.
According to AFC, the organization will start working with each bidding member association to complete and submit the necessary bidding documentation. Finally, the host will be announced for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup during 2021.
