Kamaru Usman the Welterweight champion maintained his belt by scoring a flooring victory over Jorge Masvidal, at the UFC 251 event in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The fight was original to be between Usman and Burns, however, after Gilbert Burns tested positive for coronavirus, he was forced to withdraw. Then Masvidal agreed to the title fight on six days’ notice.
The 33 year old Usman scored his crushing victory in the fifth round by using his champion cum clinch skills to exhaust and overpower his opponent. Usman while grounding Masvidal also punched vicious hooks during the fight to cornering his opponents body against the cage.
