The founding Williams family of Formula 1 team, is set to withdraw from ownership of the Williams F1 Team after Italian Grand Prix 2020 on 6th September.
Few days ago Williams family had sold the Williams F1 Team to the US Dorilton Capital.
The Williams F1 Team was founded by Sir Frank Williams and British engineer Patrick Head in 1977. Williams family had managed the Formula One team since the 1977 Spanish Grand Prix.
Williams family thanked their fans through a video on their twitter account.
In the past, the team has won the following honours during the ownership of the Williams family:
- Grands Prix 114
- Pole Positions 128
- Drivers’ World Championships 7
- Constructors’ Titles 9
Williams F1 Team had not won any top position after 2012 Spanish Grand Prix. The change of ownership may facilitate Williams F1 Team to regain its top position in future.
