Gregory Gaultier French World No.1 won his fourth successive PSA World Tour title after defeating World Champion Karim Abdel Gawad 3-0 in the final of the 2017 El Gouna International Squash Open, played in Egypt.
The captivating Frenchman played at an pounding pace throughout the 51-minute encounter and Gawad had no chance to play the shots which he is known for. This is Gaultier’s fourth successive PSA World Tour title after winning the British Open, Swedish Open and Windy City Open.
Despite this loss, Gawad, in May will take the World No.1 spot due to his points average over the last 12 months being higher than Gaultier’s.
