More than 2800 archers from 79 countries have registered to compete in the first-ever online stage of the Indoor Archery World Series on 21-22 November 2020. Mexico has entered the most athletes with 311, followed by Malaysia with 301 and the Netherlands with 128.
The entries of which closed at midnight CET on Sunday, 15th November.
Accoriding to the playing methodology, Archers can participate from anywhere in the world by shooting a 60-arrow 18-metre round on any standard World Archery licensed 40-centimetre target face (single spot, vertical triple spot or triangular triple spot; four-centimetre-diameter 10-ring for recurve, two-centimetre-diameter 10-ring for compound).
Competitors must shoot their rounds with witnesses and will submit pictures of their target faces as evidence of their score.
Among the registered archers are Rio 2016 Olympic medallists Lisa Unruh and Jean-Charles Valladont, Paralympic Champion David Drahoninsky and the entire Hyundai Steel professional archery team in Korea, including London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Champions Oh Jin Hyek and Ku Bonchan.
Fifteen teams have signed up across the recurve and compound competition categories, for which World Archery is guaranteeing a prize fund of 10,000 CHF. The four top-ranked squads in each category will shoot in the remote Indoor Archery World Series Finals on 27-28 February 2021.
Scores will be published live, as they are submitted, on the World Archery website.

World Archery will stream medal matches from the Wohlen Invitational, a small event being held in northern Switzerland, live from 16h00 CET on Sunday 22 November to coincide with coverage of the Indoor Archery World Series. The scores of archers competing at this event will be automatically included in the open ranking.
Registration for the second remote stage of the 2021 Indoor Archery World Series on 19-20 December 2020 is now open through OpenWAREOS.
