Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel won the Monaco Grand Prix to increase his championship lead by 25 points over Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton.
There was suspicion that Ferrari as part of a strategy deliberately got their leading driver into the lead but the Ferrari team denied that was the case.
Mercedes’ Hamilton one of the favourites ended 7th after a tough race from 13th on the grid.
The race included a collision involving McLaren’s Jenson Button, who returned to Formula 1 in place of Fernando Alonso.
