Arshad Nadeem repeated his CWG-Commonwealth Games performance and bagged another gold medal at the 2022 Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey.
Arshad has four golds to his credit with the present week being exceptional in which two medals were won along with new records in Konya Islamic games (fourth gold) and the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (third gold). First two golds were won in the 2021 at Imam Reza Athletics Championship and 2019 South Asian Games.
In Konya, Arshad was in dominating position through out the event. As per rules five throws are permitted which in his case were recorded as follows:
– First throw the javelin landed at a distance of 79.40 metres,
– Second throw was at 88.55 metres, which was the won the Gold and was also a new record for the Islamic Solidarity Games.
– Third 75.50 metres,
– Fourth 82.40 metres,
– Fifth 83.33 metres.
