Kuwait is set to host the AFC Asian Football Confederation Futsal Championship 2020. The event will commence on 2nd December and conclude on 12th December 2020.
In the 16th edition of the championship, a total of 16 national teams will participate.
AFC Futsal Championship is a biennial international event contested by Asian teams. The top five teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
The event was originally planned to be held earlier but had been delayed due to the corona pandemic and the host country had also been changed. No spectators will be allowed due to COVID-19 related precautions.
Futsal is a ball sport that is played on a hard court which is smaller than a football ground. It is mainly contested indoors and has similarities to five-a-side football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each including the goalkeeper.
