Ray Reardon (1932-2024), a former world snooker champion died at the age of 91. According to his wife he died on Friday after having been diagnosed and treated for Cancer.
Also known as ‘Dracula’ because of his prominent widow’s peak hairstyle, Reardon at the age of 58 retired in 1991. He later worked as a consultant for Ronnie O’Sullivan, who won the world title in 2004.

A native of Wales, Reardon was a dominant figure in the world of snooker. During 1970 and 1978 he won six world titles. He was made an MBE-Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 1985. In 1969, he won the first Pot Black series on BBC Two. During 2016 the Welsh Open trophy in his honour was named the Ray Reardon Trophy.
