Australia’s Ash Barty recently won the Women’s singles event at the Adelaide International marking her first major title victory at home soil.
During which Ash also had a marriage proposal from a spectator fan.
The world number one downed Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska 6-2 and 7-5 to claim the champion title.
But the game was not over for the Adelaide Champion as she had to face a difficult situation after the match as well.
As the Aussie Tennis pro mingled with the fans after winning the title, a particularly excited fan proposed her out of the blue.
“Will you marry me. Ash?”, the man said.
However, the recently crowned champion held her nerve and casually dismissed the proposal laughing it off.
“I can’t do that, my friend,” she jokingly replied.
Thus, a potentially awkward situation was turned into a light moment thanks to her quick-witted response.
The 23-year-old tennis player from Australia is now eying the title victory at the Australian Open set to begin from Monday, 20th January.
