Jacob Kiplimo won World Athletics Half Marathon Championship 2020 in Gdynia, Poland to secure the first ever Gold Medal for Uganda in such an event.
The 19 years old Kiplimo ran the total distance of 21.0975 km in 58 minutes and 49 seconds. With his best performance, Kiplimo has also set a national record for Uganda.
The race was originally planned for 29th March 2020 but was rescheduled due to the corona pandemic.
