LAHORE: Four matches were decided in the Battle Axe Polo Cup 2020 played at two different venues on Tuesday.
In the first match of the day, Master Paints edged out Artema Medical/Black Horse Paints by 8-7 in the sudden death chukker here at Cavalry Polo ground. From Master Paints, Mumtaz Abbas Niazi emerged as top scorer with a quartet while Mariano Regal hammered a hat-trick and Farooq Amin Sufi struck one. From Artema Medical, Hamza Mawaz Khan fired in fabulous five goals while they had also two goals handicap advantage.
In the second match of the day played at LP&CC ground, helped by a half goal handicap, Master Paints Black beat Newage by 4.5-4. From Master Paints Black, which had a half goal handicap, Manuel Eduardo Carranza struck all the four goals while from the losing side, Edward Banner Eve slammed in all the four goals.
In the third match of the day at LP&CC ground, AOS Polo Team outscored by 8.5-5. From AOS Polo Team, which had a half goal handicap, Raja Samiullah cracked a quartet while Kian Hall contributed with a hat-trick and Hamza Ali Hakeem with one goal.
In the fourth and last match of the day at LP&CC ground, Barry’s played well against Platinum Homes and outperformed them by 9-5.5. From Barry’s, Ernesto Trotz was hero of the day as he pumped in all the nine goals while from the losing side, which had a half goal handicap, Amirreza Behboudi converted four goals and Azam Noon struck one.
