Barry’s, FG/Din Polo Team and Remounts recorded convincing victories in the Battle Axe Polo Cup 2021, played on Jinnah Polo Fields, Lahore.
In the first match of the day, Barry’s beat Platinum Homes by 8½-6. Hamza Mawaz Khan was the star of the day for Team Barry’s, which had a half goal handicap advantage. Hamza contributed with four fantastic goals while his team members Ernesto Oscar Trotz and Leenah Barry also displayed quality polo skills and converted three and one goal respectively. From Team Platinum Homes, Amir Reza Behboudi pumped in five goals while Agha Hasim struck one goal.
The second match of the day saw sensational Farhad Sheikh Muhammad steering FG/Din Polo Team to a thumping 12-4 victory over 4 Corps B. Farhad Sheikh was in sublime form as he played impressive polo with horse and mallet and smashed in superb six goals for FG/Din Polo Team. His teammates also impressed with quality polo skills and converted significant goals for their team. Tomas Reinoso thrashed in three goals while Abbas Mukhtar and Waqas Khan banged in a brace each. From Team 4 Corps B, Hav Shahzad and Naveed Sheikh played well converted three and one goal respectively.
Remounts overpowered Newage Cables/Rizvi’s by 8-3 in the third match of the day. Nicolas Antinori played a key role in Remounts’ triumph as playing superb and convincing polo, the foreign player fired in fabulous four goals while his team members Raja Temur Nadeem and Swr Naeem also played key roles in their team’s triumph by contributing two goals each. From the Team Newage Cables/Rizvi’s, all the three goals were converted by Tomas Marin Moreno, but his efforts were futile in the end.
