Blind Cricket: 21st AGM of World Blind Cricket Ltd. Held; 2 Pak Officials Elected
NEPAL: The 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of World Blind Cricket Ltd. took place in Kathmandu, Nepal on 10th and 11th of December 2018.
The elections of the Executive Committee of WBCL – World Blind Cricket Ltd was held and during that Pakistan contested on two positions of Executive Committee and was elected unopposed. Syed Muhammad Salman Tariq Bokhari was elected as First Vice President of WBC (for the 1st term) whereas Maher Muhammad Yousaf Haroon was elected as Director Technical for WBC for the 3rd consecutive term.
They have been elected for the term of next two years,
1. Syed Salman Bokhari (Pakistan) First Vice President
2. Maher Yousaf Haroon (Pakistan) Director Technical
Decisions made on Pakistan’s proposals:
Upon Pakistan’s proposal, World Blind Cricket Ltd has endorsed “Cricket for the Blind Women”, and bilateral series, competitions between member countries will have the status of International series.
World Blind Cricket Ltd has endorsed the forthcoming Pakistan-Nepal Blind Cricket Series as the 1st International series of Women Blind Cricket.

World Blind Cricket Ltd will form a panel of proficient Umpires and every member country must nominate at least 1 umpire who is qualified and well versed in Umpiring both normal and blind cricket.
Totally Blind (B1) players shouldn’t be used as sandbags as a close-in fielder. They must not field with in the 5 yards C-Circle drawn on either side of the wickets.
On the recommendations of Pakistan, certain laws specifically for the Blind Women were approved.
The account of World Blind Cricket ltd will be re-located, opened and operated in UAE.
Other Major Decisions:
Minimum quota for the number of overs to be bowled by B1 bowler in limited overs game is increased from 30% to 40%.
WBC has created the post of CEO as a paid employee.
