NEPAL: Competing in 2019 South Asian Games, the javelin thrower from Pakistan, Arshad Nadeem won the Gold medal and became the first athlete from Pakistan to be able to compete in 2020 Olympics.
Arshad achieved this feat by scoring a throw of 86.48 metres. With this the existing Javelin national record has also been broken.
The 22-year-old’s throw of 86.29m also crossed the previous South Asian Games 2016 record, previously held by India’s Neeraj Chopra of 82.23m throw.
