Nepalese 10 Sherpas achieved a rare feat on 16th January 2021, by conquering K2 the second highest mountain, for the first time during winters. Mingma G and Nimsdai lead the team.
The 8,611 metre-high K2 till today was the only peak that has never been conquered during the winter period.
According to reports this record was set at 5pm Pakistan Standard Time.

On Friday, 4 Sherpas had climbed 26,000 feet, which is the highest height achieved by teams in winters. The previous record was 25,320 feet.
Alpine Mountaineer Club, Pakistan informed that the K2 Winter expedition 2021 which conquered deadly mountain, includes: Nirmal Purja, Gelje Sherpa, Mingma David Sherpa, Mingma Ge. Sona Sherpa, Mingma Tenzi Sherpa, Pem Chhiri Sherpa, Dawa Temba Sherpa, Kili Pemba Sherpa and Dawa Tenjing Sherpa.
