The World No.1 S. Halep won the women’s singles category title of Italian Open 2020.
Halep was winning the match 6-0, 2-1 when walkover was given as Karolína Plíšková retired midway through the final due to an ongoing lower back injury.
During the Quarter finals Halep had a walkover win from Y. Putintseva.
The tournament with a prize money of € 5.9 million commenced from 12th and will culminate on 21st September in Rome. The Italian Open is part of ATP Association of Tennis Professionals Tour Masters 1000.
