Champions League: La Liga Toppers Humiliated by A.S. Roma
Wow just wow. No words can describe the feeling that the A.S Roma’s players and supporters will have gone through after beating Barcelona.
The La Liga table toppers, Barcelona were ahead of A.S Roma as they had already scored 4 – 1 in the 1st leg the champions league quarterfinal leg match.
However, A.S Roma scored three breathtaking goals in the 2nd and final leg of the quarter final match to take the aggregate to 4-4, thus winning the match on the away goal advantage.
This loss was a long time coming as Barca’s key players looked exhausted as they did not get much rotation and not enough quality substitutes to take their place.
The best part about this match is that Barcelona only needed one away goal to seal the match but apparently, A.S Roma’s defense was too good for them.
A.S Roma’s strikers demonstrated exceptional class as they scored accurately and knocked out Barcelona from the Champions League race.
Edin Dzeko scored in the first half while Daniele De Rossi and Kostas Manolas scored in the 2nd half to deny Barcelona from stepping into the semi-finals.
