Remington Pharma edged past Master Paints Black by a narrow margin of 4½-4 in the Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Paints main final played at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Sunday.

Master Paints Black started the match having a half -goal handicap advantage and dominated the first three chukkers in great style but Remington Pharma then made a strong comeback in the dying moments of the third chukker and the fourth and last chukker to take a slight half-goal lead that helped them win the crucial match by 4½-4.

From Remington Pharma, Basel Faisal Khokhar pumped in the winning goal while Ahmed Zubair Butt banged in a beautiful brace and Ahmed Bilal Riaz contributed with one goal. From Master Paints Black, Manuel Carranza though played superb polo and hammered a hat-trick and Sufi Muhammad Haroon struck one goal yet their efforts proved fruitless in the end, as their side lost the final by just a half-goal margin.
Earlier, the subsidiary final between Remounts and Master Paints/Newage Cables also proved a nail-biting encounter and after a tough fight, Remounts emerged as winners by a close margin of 9-8½.
Talking to media after registering the title triumph, Basel Faisal Khokhar, Captain of Remington Pharma, said: “The team worked very hard for this prestigious event and managed to earn a place in the main final. Although we faced tough resistance from Master Paints Black in the final, yet we remained firm and played like a unit that helped us win the coveted trophy. This polo season is moving towards its peak and we will try to record more title victories in this season.”

Master Paints Black and Remington Pharma qualified for the main final of the Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Paints after winning their respective semifinals played at the Jinnah Polo Fields.
Semi-final 1
Master Paints Black beat FG/Din Polo by a close margin of 8-7½. Manuel Carranza was the hero from the winning side as he displayed outstanding polo skills and techniques and contributed with superb six goals. Substitute player Agha Musa Ali Khan also played well and banged in a beautiful brace. Tom

Semi-final 2
The second semifinal also proved a thrilling encounter where Remington Pharma faced tough fight from their opponents – Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel – before winning the crucial match 6½-6. The winning team started the match having a half goal handicap advantage. Hamza Muwaz Khan did the magic with mallet and polo pony and fired in fabulous four goals and his teammates Ahmed Zubair Butt and Ahmed Bilal Riaz contributed with one goal apiece.
From the losing side, Nicolas Antinori also played well and pumped in five goals and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed struck one goal but their efforts couldn’t bear fruit for their side, which lost the thriller by margin of just a half goal.
Day 9 | Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Fourth Semi-finalist
Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel qualified for the semifinals of the Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Paints by defeating Platinum Homes 4-3 on penalty shots at the Jinnah Polo Fields.
On Friday, 9th December, Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel will take on Remington Pharma and FG/Din Polo will vie against Master Paints Black in the semifinals.
To decide the fourth semifinalist team, a penalty shootout was conducted between Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel and Platinum Homes, as both the teams had equal points on the points table.
Nicolas Antinori from Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel scored four out of five 60-yard penalties while Amir Raza Behbodi from Platinum Homes converted three penalties, thus the Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel emerged as winners of the crucial match and qualified for the semifinals.
On the other hand, two matches were played to book berths in the subsidiary final. In the first match, Master Paints/Newage Cables defeated Guard Group by 11-8. Juan Cruz Greguol top-scored with ten goals while Farooq Amin Sufi slammed in the eleventh one for the winning team. Taimur Ali Malik pumped in five goals while Saqib Khan Khakwani hammered a hat-trick for Guard Group.
In the second match, Remounts beat Platinum Homes by 7-3½. For Remounts, Raja Temur Nadeem fired in four fabulous goals while Sawar Naeem, Imran Shahid and Maj Haseeb Minhas (R) converted one goal apiece. All three goals for Platinum Homes were thrashed in by Amirreza Behboudi.
Day 8 | MP Black Third Semi-finalist | Manuel; Taimur & Omer In Ballistic Forms
Team Master Paints Black qualified for the semifinals of Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Paints. While due to having equal points, the fourth semifinalist will be decided on penalty shoots between Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel and Platinum Homes on Thursday, 8th December at Jinnah Polo Fields.

Match 1
The most important match of the day was contested between Master Paints Black and Platinum Homes team and after a tough fight, Master Paints Black won it by 9-7½ and also booked berth in the semifinals by winning all the three matches they played so far.
Manuel Carranza fired in five fantastic goals for Master Paints Black, while substitute player Mir Huzaifa Ahmed pumped in fabulous four goals and Sufi Mohammad Haroon struck one. For the losing side, which had a half goal handicap advantage, Iranian player Amirreza Behboudi hammered a quartet while Agha Musa banged in a brace and Qadir Ashfaq scored one goal.
Match 2
The second match was also a thrilling, in which Guard Group defeated Kalabagh/Zacky Farms by a narrow margin of 8-7½. For Guard Group, Temur Ali Malik smashed in superb five goals while Saqib Khan Khakwani hammered a hat-trick. From Kalabagh/Zacky Farms, which had a half goal handicap advantage, Raja Jalal Arsalan thrashed in five goals while Malik Ali and Nazar Dean Ali Khan scored one goal each.
Match 3
The third and final match proved a one-sided affair, where Diamond Paints overpowered Ream Rijas Group by 12-3½. Lt Col Omer Minhas (R) pumpedin superb seven goals while Ahmed Ali Tawana and Abdul Rahman Monnoo thrashed in two goals each Mir Shoaib Ahmed struck one. Omer Elahi Sheikh scored one goal from Rijas Group, while they also had a handicap advantage of two and a half goals.
Day 8 | FG/Din & Remington Semi-finalists; Hamza’s Magical Play
FG/Din Polo and Remington Pharma qualified for the semifinals by winning their respective matches played on the eighth day of the Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Paints at the JPF-Jinnah Polo Fields.
The final league matches will be played on Wednesday, 7th December.
The most exciting match of the day was played between Remington Pharma and Remounts and after a tough contest, Remington Pharma won the thriller by 11½-10 goals. The Remounts team was enjoying an 8-2 lead by the end of the second chukker but Hamza Mawaz Khan then made the difference and turned the tables of the match in the next two chukker. Hamza continued to score goals one after another and by the end of the match, his superb six-goal contribution steered his side to a close 11½-10 triumph. Ahmed Zubair Butt and Ahmed Bilal Riaz also played key roles in their team’s success as they pumped in four and one goal for Remington Pharma, which had a half goals handicap advantage.
On the other hand, Remounts players also kept on fighting till the end, but their efforts could not bear fruit for their side, which lost the crucial match. Raja Temur Nadeem top-scored for Remounts with fabulous five goals while Muhammad Naeem hammered a hat-trick of goals and Haseeb Minhas banged in a brace.
Meanwhile, FG/Din Polo defeated Salam Polo team by 9-3 to qualify for the semifinals. Mian Abbas Mukhtar and Tomas Marin Moreno emerged as hero of the day for the winning side as they fired in fabulous four goals each while Shah Shamyl Alam converted one goal. Rulo Trotz scored all the three goals for Salam Polo.
Earlier, Master Paints/Newage Cables edged past DS Polo/Barry’s by a narrow margin of 9½-9. Juan Cruz Greguol played a hero’s role for Master Paints/Newage as he hammered excellent eight goals while Adnan Jalil Azam slammed in the remaining one goal while they also had a half goal handicap advantage.
For the losing side, Rulo Trotz thrashed in superb eight while Nafees Barry struck one goal.
Day 7 | Platinum Homes & Remounts Teams Victorious
Platinum Homes and Remounts registered emphatic victories in the Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Paints matches at the Pakistan Park Polo Ground Cavalry Ground, Lahore Cantonment. On Tuesday, 6th December three matches will be played at Jinnah Polo Fields, DHA.
Match 1
Sensational Agha Musa Ali Khan and Amirreza Behboudi steered Platinum Homes to a convincing 8-3½ triumph over 4 Corps in the first match of the day. Both Agha Musa and Amirreza played extremely well for the winning side and contributed with tremendous three goals each. Bilal Hayat Noon contributed with a brilliant brace.
Lt Col Rab Nawaz Tiwana, Lt Col Tabasum Zia and Naveed Shaikh scored one goal each for 4 Corps, which had a half goal handicap advantage. John Fisher and Manuel Carranza supervised the match as field umpires.
Match 2
A one-sided affair where Team Remounts overwhelmed Team Rijas Group by a huge margin of 12-3½. Imran Shahid emerged as top scorer from the winning team as he fired in fabulous five goals while Muhammad Naeem hammered a hat-trick of goals while Maj Haseeb Minhas (R) and Raja Temur Nadeem banged in a beautiful brace each.
Team Rijas Group, which two and a half goal handicap advantage, could see just a goal coming from Bilal Haye.
Day 6 | Hamza’s Magical 9 Goals Performance
FG/Din Polo, Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel and Remington Pharma recorded easy victories on the sixth day of the Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Pants at the JPF-Jinnah Polo Fields.
Match 1
FG/Din Polo beat Master Paints/Newage Cables by 7-5½. Tomas Marin Moreno played hero’s role in FG/Din Polo’s victory by firing in fabulous four goals while Mian Abbas Mukhtar banged in a beautiful brace and Shah Shamyl Alam and Rafi Shaikh scored one goal each.
The players of Master Paints/Newage Cables also fought well against their opponents but they couldn’t finish the crucial match and lost it by 5½-7. Juan Cruz Greguol slammed in four goals and Farooq Amin Sufi struck one for the losing side, which had a half goal handicap advantage.

Mir Huzaifa Ahmed also played well and thrashed in two goals while Omer Asjad Malhi and Osman Aziz Anwar converted one one goal each. The 4 Corps Team had a two-goal handicap advantage while Muhammad Raza Behboudi scored the only goal.

Hamza was in sublime form and amused the spectators with his magical mallet and pony work as he hammered excellent nine goals for Remington Pharma while Ahmed Bilal Riaz struck the remaining one for the winning side, which had the handicap advantage of a half goal. Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel defeated Guard Group 10-8½ in the only match played on day five of the Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Pants at the JPF-Jinnah Polo Fields.
Three matches will be played on Sunday, 4th December At 12:30 pm, Master Paints/Newage will play against FG/Din Polo, at 1:30 pm, 4 Corps will vie against Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel while at 2:30 pm, Diamond Paints will compete against Remington Pharma.

DS Polo/Barry’s defeated Salam Polo by 7-6. Rulo Trotz made the day for the winning side as he played outstanding polo and fired in four fabulous goals. He was ably assisted by his teammates Daniyal Sheikh and Nafees Barry, who converted two and one goal respectively. On the other hand, Nicolas Ruiz Guinazu emerged as top scorer as he contributed with five fantastic goals while Hamza Ali Hakeem scored one goal.

Master Paints Black and FG/Din Polo were the victorious teams on the second day of the two-week eight-goal Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Pants. On Thursday, 1st December two important matches of the tournament will be played at Pakistan Park at the JPF-Jinnah Polo Fields.

Manuel Carranza’s heroics helped Master Paints Black edged past Team Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel by a close margin of 10-8 in the very challenging and stimulating first match of the second day of the tournament.
The sterling performance of foreign player Manuel Carranza was the highlight of the match as he played outstanding polo and kept on scoring goals one after another for Master Paints Black, taking his tally of goals to seven goals out of total ten. Sufi Mohammad Haroon (two goals) and Sufi Mohammad Amir (one goal) converted the remaining three goals to complete the tally of ten goals.
Nicolas Antinori excelled for Team Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel and added significant six goals in his team’s tally while Lt Col Omer Minhas (R) pumped in the remaining two goals for Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel, which lost the match by a close margin of 8-10 goals.

Tomas Marin Moreno stole the show in the second match of the day as he steered FG/Din Polo to a thrashing 12-4 triumph over Team DS/Barry’s. Tomas Moreno was in sublime form as his classic game was fully applauded and cheered by the high-charged crowd present on the occasion. He amused the spectators with his stick work so as the perfect pony performance that helped him thrash in tremednous ten goals out of 12 goals.
His teammates also fully supported the star of the day as Saif Noon and Shah Shamyl Alam beautifully converted one goal apiece for FG/Din Polo. Rulo Trotz hammered a hat-trick of goals and Daniyal Shaikh malleted one goal for Team DS Polo/Barry’s.
