IPL – Indian Premier League according to BCCI and media sources will be held in United Arab Emirates. It will supposedly be held from 19th September till 8th November 2020.
The IPL has been made possible during September-November window after due to coronavirus attack, Australia the host of T20 World Cup declined to organise the event. This led to ICC deciding to postpone the T20 World Cup.
The Governing Council of IPL during next week meeting will officially approve the plan and finalise details. According to sources BCCI has already informally informed the franchises about the plan.
With the proposed plan the BCCI decided to advance the date by a week in order to ensure that the Australia tour of the Indian team is not at risk. As per Australian government regulations, the Indian team will have an obligatory 14 days quarantine days. Thus, a delay would have confused the plans.
